Nut butters as a substitute for nuts?
I do a lot of vegan cuisine, which often calls for nuts in the preparation of sauces and dairy alternatives, as cashew whipped cashew cream cheese, etc. I recently moved to a small island where it is difficult find raw nuts that are best for this purpose, and have difficulty getting nuts consistency I want in my blender. Has anyone replaced butters nuts to their counterparts in the whole nut recipes? What were the results? Nut butter How much have you found to equal, for example a cup whole nuts?
Wow, does not work. In the ruins of consistency. I've tried before. Sorry, but nuts is all that works. Unless you can find raw nut paste (just nuts and oil) that could be, but I doubt it.
